P Kalidasan Gurukkal is one of the humblest disciple of (Late) Sri. Kaylott Mohandas Gurukkal who is regarded as the most eminent disciple of the Grand Master (Late) Sri. K. P. Joseph Aasan, the most famous master of authentic southern Tamil branch of Siddha, Marma and Kalaripayattu also known as 'Adi Thadai' or Nadar style. Sri. Kalidasan Gurukkal was born as the youngest son of Sri. Neelakandan Vaidyar and Pavookay at Pongott, Kodinattumukku, Olavanna village in Kozhikode on 11th November, 1956.
Because the master was the neighbour of Sri. Kalidasan Gurukkal, he started learning Kalaripayattu and Marma treatments along with master's brothers. During the time of running master's kalari centres at Chelari and Ramanattukara, in the year 1989, Sri. Kalidasan Gurukkal had to reach Cochin (now known as Kochi) for continuing his official job. In the year 1990, Sri. Kalidasan Gurukkal had started to train Kalaripayattu ('Adi Thadai') and Siddha, Marma treatments from Cochin.
Today, in addition to treating diseases with references to Marma Sutra, Marma Nidanam, Marma kannadi, Marma Peerangi, Marma Njarambara, and the other 24 Marma Treatment Books originated from Sage Agasthya, Sri. Kalidasan Gurukkal also spread knowledge by teaching Marma Vidhya as per the ancient text "Adavu Sutra Thuravu Kol" to his desciples.
Sri. Kalidasan Gurukkal is regarded as a specialist in Sidha Medicine and ite Treatments which promises a full recovery from many ailments prevailing today including paralysis, musculo-skeletal pains, cervical and disc problems. According to Siddha Texts, there are ten vital points where one can feel the prana concentration. The pranic blocks in these channels can occur due to accidental hits and can be cured by 'Addangal' or the retrieval method unique to Siddha. There are 13 major retrieval systems. Ailments like cervical spondylitis, skeleto-muscular pains, rheumatic lumbar, severe back pain, slip disc and even paralysis have been cured by Sri. Kalidasan Gurukkal.
Sri. Kalidasna Gurukkal had the blessing and proper training in kalari (Adi Thadai) as well as Siddha Medicine and treatments from the his master Sri. Kaylott Mohandas Gurukkal of Calicut for several decades. Sri. Kalidasan Gurukkal had combined all these knowledge along with the life long achieved Siddha techniques to give relief to hundreds of patients suffering from various aliments in india and abroad.
His dedication and adherence to ancient Siddha Treatments was the reason behind the formation of a very popular Kalari Training and Treatments Center known as Nava Bharatha Kalari Sangam, near Thoppumpady in Cochin. Today, Nava Bharatha Kalari has a team of Specialized Siddha pracatitioners and therapists who promote the traditional Siddha and Marma Chikilza under the strict supervision of Sri. Kalidasan Gurukkal.
